Full Spectrum v. Isolate

CBD oil is one of the most rapidly growing trends of the 21st century. People have started using CBD for a huge variety of different things, most of which circle around treatment of medical conditions. While not much research has been put into how CBD manages to treat certain illnesses, it has surely proven to be effective in ridding its consumers of basic physical and mental ailments. CBD oil can be consumed in a few different ways ranging from simple oral drops to topical ointments and even vaping, which is what makes it so widely accepted. Cannabinoids, among other phytochemicals found in the cannabis plant, engage the endocannabinoid system, which is a set of cannabinoid receptors throughout our body. The endocannabinoid system enables cannabinoids to have a therapeutic effect, which helps treat mental health problems like anxiety, stress and depression, among other problems.

In the market today, there are mainly two types of CBD oil available; full spectrum CBD and CBD isolate. While both of them originate from the same plant, there are significant differences between the two. Let’s look at the basics first. CBD, cannabidiol, is a chemical molecule that is found in the cannabis plant. This plant contains almost 100 phytochemical molecules out of which cannabidiol is extracted to make CBD isolate. On the other hand, full spectrum CBD contains many different cannabinoids, along with the other chemicals like terpenes and flavonoids. It goes under minimal processing and refining and is therefore also sometimes called whole plant extract. This is what enables it to hold a greater number of medicinal properties.

CBD isolate, as its name suggests, is the most refined form of the oil that only contains cannabidiol. While this ensures that the user knows how much CBD they are getting and enables them to control the amount, it also restricts the beneficial properties of CBD oil. The additional chemicals found in full spectrum CBD, namely terpenes, have been known to have anti-inflammatory properties that help fight infections and other ailments in the body.

While CBD is still undergoing research, its therapeutic and medicinal properties cannot be ignored. Moreover, many studies have concluded that the less-refined version of CBD oil, that is full spectrum CBD, is more beneficial for use as most of the plant matter is left intact. CBD isolate products are also considerably more expensive than full spectrum products as they go through a much greater deal of refinement and processing while also requiring larger quantities of plant matter in order to get a significant amount of only cannabidiol in them.

In conclusion, full spectrum CBD oil is known to be the better option as it provides treatment and prevention from a wide array of different medical conditions and even works to ensure the healthy development of our cells and general wellness of the body. It presents great benefits to those who use it on a daily basis to promote a higher quality of life.
